Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank wholeheartedly thanked a fan who wrote them a letter to celebrate the birth of their son August Philip Hawke. The royal watcher shared a picture of the handwritten note she received on the Twitter account History, Royal and Other Things.
The caption read: “Just popped on the doormat.”
In the first snap, the royal fan included the front of the card, which shows a picture Eugenie also shared on her Instagram account of herself, Jack and their little bundle of joy.
This picture, the first showing little August in full, was taken by the Brooksbanks’ midwife and shared online on February 20.
The second photograph showed the handwritten card, presenting a brief message and Jack and Eugenie’s monogram on the top.
The note read: “Thank you so much for thinking of us and celebrating the birth of our beautiful boy, August.
“Words can’t express the love and joy we feel.”
The card was signed by both new parents, reading: “With our very best, Eugenie and Jack.”
Other royal fans expressed their appreciation for Eugenie and Jack’s kind gesture.

One wrote: “So nice surprise! All the royals are very kind to answer to letters received from people.”
Another highly praised the couple, saying: “Everything about both of them is genuine.”
A third suggested Eugenie wrote the note, adding: “I really like her calligraphy”
Another joked saying: “Truly Royal Mail.”
And finally, one was left anticipating their own royal reply.
They said: “Congratulations on your reply, I can’t wait to also hear back from them.”
Princess Eugenie gave birth to little August on February 9 at Portland Hospital, the same clinic where both she and her sister Princess Beatrice were born.
The young York spent a few days in hospital but was all smiles when she was pictured leaving on the back seat of a car driven by her husband.
Taking to her Instagram account, she expressed her joy to have become a mum on Mother’s Day.
Sharing a snap of her baby laying on a blanket in a garden, Eugenie wrote: “I’m so excited to be August’s mum and as you can see I’m enjoying my first Mother’s Day.
“I’m also celebrating my beautiful Mumma with this picture of us from March 1990. You’ve taught me so much. Happy Mother’s Day to all.”
Last week, after she celebrated her first birthday as a mum, the 31-year-old royal shared two more pictures of her son and Jack.
She said: “Thank you for the birthday love yesterday… I got the best present I could ask for!!”
August is the first grandson of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson and the ninth great-grandson of Prince Philip and the Queen.
He was recently joined by another royal cousin, Lucas Philip Tindall – the third baby of Mike and Zara Tindall who was born last week on the couple’s bathroom floor.
