Simone Biles surely is a showstopper—and it’s clear the laws of physics don’t apply to her out-of-this-world skills.
The four-time gold medal gymnast returns to the mat for the Tokyo Olympics 2021, and international competitors better watch out after seeing this eye-popping new NBC promo, which E! News can exclusively reveal for the very first time.
“When you are Simone Biles, certain laws just don’t apply—like gravity,” a commentator states as Biles does a series of flips. The final screen appropriately reads “the greatest of all time” as a red sequin leotard-clad Biles gracefully displays her jaw-dropping skills mid-air.
Biles’ superstar talent has captured all of the globe’s attention ever since her first appearance on the Olympics stage in 2016. Since her skyrocket to fame, Biles has used her platform to advocate for abuse survivors, body positivity and “badass” confidence. Oh, and did we mention she calls A-listers Kim Kardashian and Zac Efron pals? She even shared a smooch with the High School Musical star!
Biles will be competing for her second Olympics during an unprecedented year. The 2021 Olympics will mark the first global unifying event since the world was hit by the coronavirus pandemic in 2019. Athletes around the world have continued to train even after the Tokyo Games were pushed to 2021 following 2020’s global quarantine.
The former Dancing With the Stars competitor Biles detailed her intense “down and dirty” training schedule ahead of the Summer Olympics, and explained why she felt compelled to compete again. “I would definitely say it doesn’t matter where you start, it’s where you’re going and how you pick yourself back up from those falls,” Biles told The Tonight Show host Jimmy Fallon during the April 22 episode. “Just dream big, and dream bigger after that because you never know where your dream will take you.”
We can certainly say Biles’ dreams—and history-making career—are just getting started!
